Psychodynamic counselling provides an opportunity to explore problems with
someone trained to listen in a non directive way and to facilitate the person's
own resources for change and the resolution of difficulties. It aims to assist
people to understand how past experience and current behaviour may be linked and
leads to a more creative self understanding. It allows space to explore as an
individual or as a couple, thoughts and feelings about oneself and our
relationships with others.
Counselling helps you take time out from your situation and see it from a fresh perspective.
Your counsellor will help you to think about what you can do to change your
situation for the better, and enable you to explore complex or difficult issues
in a safe and confidential environment.

This first session will provide you with the opportunity to explore ways in which your problems can be addressed and to decide, along with your counsellor and without obligation, whether or not we can work together on the issues troubling you.

you concern. Together we can explore the root causes of problems and consider what
might be stopping you from reaching your full potential. Counsellors are trained
to look beyond presenting problems to possible underlying causes. The aim of the
therapeutic process is to enable you to understand and accept yourself, to
change your behaviour to what is more productive and rewarding for you and to
help you move towards becoming the kind of person you want to be.
